Organize PDF pages
Open a PDF as a sheet of thumbnails and fix it by hand: turn pages upright, remove the ones you don't want and put the rest in the right order.
Add one PDF.
or drop a file here
Your PDF is handled inside this browser tab and is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Press ‘Choose a file’ and open the PDF. Every page appears as a thumbnail.
- Use the buttons under a page: ‘Rotate left’ or ‘Rotate right’ to turn it, ‘Delete page’ to drop it. ‘Rotate all’ in the toolbar turns every page at once.
- Change the order by dragging a thumbnail onto another page, or move a page one step at a time with ‘Move earlier’ and ‘Move later’.
- If you need more pages, ‘Add blank page’ puts an empty one at the end and ‘Add another PDF’ brings in all the pages of a second file.
- Press ‘Save PDF’, then ‘Download’. Nothing changes in the file until you save.
What it does
Quarter turns, one page or all
‘Rotate left’ and ‘Rotate right’ turn one page by 90 degrees per press, and ‘Rotate all’ gives every page a clockwise quarter turn. The thumbnail turns with it, so you see the result before saving.
Delete with a way back
‘Delete page’ fades the page instead of removing it, and its button becomes ‘Bring back’. Pages are only dropped when you save, and at least one page has to stay.
Drag or step
Drag a thumbnail onto another page to place it in front of that one. ‘Move earlier’ and ‘Move later’ shift a page by one place, which suits a touch screen or a keyboard.
Add pages as you go
‘Add blank page’ appends an empty page the same size as the last page, handy for a signature or notes. ‘Add another PDF’ appends the pages of another file, and you can drag them to wherever they belong.
Start over with one button
‘Reset’ puts the original pages back in their first order and rotation. Deleted pages return and any pages you added are removed, so you begin again from the file as you opened it.
A new file, your original untouched
‘Save PDF’ builds a new document from the pages you kept, in your order, named like the original with -edited added. The file on your device stays as it was.
Good to know
This tool is for documents that are nearly right. A scanner feeds one sheet sideways. A double-sided scan leaves a blank back after every page of a one-sided original. An appendix arrives as a separate file, or a form needs an empty page beside it for notes. You can deal with all of it in one pass and check the thumbnails before you save.
Pages are copied into the new file at their own size, and a rotation you apply is added to the one the page already has, so nothing is redrawn and text stays selectable. As with the other page tools here, bookmarks from the original are not carried over, and a password-protected PDF has to be unlocked first with Unlock PDF.
The organizer opens one PDF at a time, but ‘Add another PDF’ lets you pull pages from further files into the same sheet. Whole documents are quicker to join with Merge PDF, and Split PDF suits cutting a document into separate files.
Questions and answers
How can I turn one page the right way up?
Open the file, press ‘Rotate left’ or ‘Rotate right’ under that page, then press ‘Save PDF’ and ‘Download’. The other pages stay as they were.
How do I remove pages from a PDF?
Press ‘Delete page’ under each page you want gone. Faded pages are dropped when you press ‘Save PDF’, and ‘Bring back’ undoes a deletion until then.
How do I move a page to a different position?
Drag its thumbnail onto the page it should sit in front of, or press ‘Move earlier’ or ‘Move later’ until it is where you want it.
Can I add a blank page, or pages from another PDF?
Yes. ‘Add blank page’ adds an empty page at the end, sized like the last page, and ‘Add another PDF’ adds the pages of another file at the end. Drag them into place afterwards.
How do I undo my changes?
Press ‘Reset’ to go back to the original order and rotation, with deleted pages restored and added pages removed. Nothing is final until you press ‘Save PDF’.
Will organizing change the quality or the size of the file?
Quality stays the same, because pages are copied rather than redrawn. A PDF usually gets smaller when you delete pages that hold large images; for more savings, use Compress PDF.
